Bankhaus Metzler Berlin

Modernity and tradition united at Bankhaus Metzler's new location in Berlin

For the design of its new private banking location, Bankhaus Metzler relied on its proven collaboration with neotares. Since early 2024, the Berlin team has supported the private bank, first by helping select the rental property and then by designing a modern, progressive concept, which they implemented until the April 2025 opening.

To help decide on a rental space, neotares planned various space options. The final choice was a new building on Lietzenburger Straße with innovative architecture and a green façade. The building is aiming for DGNB Gold certification.
neotares acted as the user representative, coordinating with the landlord regarding renovations.

The core of the mandate was interior design. Bankhaus Metzler wanted a modern design that reflects the Metzler character and exudes Berlin flair. Starting in summer 2024, the Berlin-based neotares team designed the space with great attention to detail. It offers room for open-plan workstations, an adjoining kitchen, and several meeting rooms. The design concept draws inspiration from Berlin's urbanity and adaptability, manifesting through contrasts: cool, technical materials alternate with bold color accents, light and shadow, and glossy and matte surfaces. Modern design enters into a field of tension with historical paintings and furniture. Selected Berlin locations are incorporated by translating their surroundings and design into an iconic language of color and form.

The furniture and materials were carefully selected, and the carpentry work was commissioned with great attention to detail. The unique designs and high-quality materials impress, and they also correspond to the house's sustainability concept in the area of interior design. The Berlin team closely supervised the subsequent expansion and furnishing, paying great attention to detail. As a result, Bankhaus Metzler's new location opened in spring 2025, offering a uniquely designed, high-quality space.
