Less is more: An efficient and vibrant working environment for Lufthansa Industry Solutions

In Norderstedt, neotares was commissioned by Lufthansa Industry Solutions to design a modern working environment for their new headquarters. The goal was to create an attractive space that optimally implements the IT consulting company's existing New Work concept and impresses with better connectivity. neotares was given a comprehensive mandate and was thus able to develop a modern, functional, and high-quality office that promotes both efficient work and interaction.

At the beginning of the process, neotares developed a detailed requirements profile, for which needs and expectations were recorded in stakeholder interviews. This revealed that by introducing a very progressive desk-sharing quota, the new space could be significantly smaller than the previous one. Around 130 workstations instead of the previous 300 would meet the requirements. On this basis, neotares assisted in the search for rental space, including the creation of test fits. Despite the limited supply of rental properties, a space was found that met the company's high standards. As the project progressed, neotares took on the comprehensive mandate for workplace consulting, interior design, project management, and construction supervision. neotares was also responsible for coordinating all trades.

The new working environment is based on high-quality existing furniture, which neotares combines with new elements to create a harmonious and sustainable overall concept. Open work areas are complemented by central zones where telephone booths and room-in-room systems enable concentrated work. In close coordination with the marketing department, the corporate identity was also integrated into the interior design. Walls, furniture, and accents are based on the CI colors, and a guidance system with icons facilitates orientation and conveys liveliness at the same time.

Despite the particular challenges posed by renovating existing buildings, such as electrification and special company-specific IT components, the project was completed in a short period of time. Only one year passed between the analysis and the move into the new space, which, at 3,160 square meters, saves almost half of the previous space. The result is an efficient, high-quality, and inviting working environment that offers space for concentrated work as well as creative exchange and is an attractive complement to working from home.
